2015-2016 Year of Music Appreciation
We are pleased to announce a year of music appreciation emphasis in the PPLS! While all our students will be guided in their solo education by our teachers, we will also be emphasizing a broader musical understanding through non-performance opportunities.
Throughout the year students will learn about composers, compositional form, instrument families, music history eras and practice, instrument development and a variety of other potential topics. The year will culminate in a Music Appreciation Fair, and we will be encouraging all our students (as well as welcoming music students from the community) to participate and enter a paper, poster, diorama, artwork, or other submission on a topic of their choosing.
Submissions will be available for viewing, and students will receive a certificate for their efforts.
